AGECARE
Q: Is there an accounting solution to unify businesses that operate in several locations? Background Established in 1998, AgeCare owns and operates Senior Health Care facilities in Southern Alberta and British Columbia. With construction and operation of the first few facilities, general accounting and administrative tasks were performed on a segmented basis, and varied considerably from site to site. As the company continued to grow, so did the need for a corporate head office, including professional accounting and administration personnel, and a common accounting software system. Solutions In the spring of 2003, a corporate decision was made to unify and streamline our operations, which included the setup of a common accounting platform. The Asyma Systems team recommended Sage ACCPAC ERP 500 accounting software. They facilitated the purchase of the appropriate computer hardware and software and oversaw the general setup of AccPac and terminal services. Once they had implemented the new system, the ASYMA Systems team provided our staff with basic Sage ACCPAC training. Products Used Sage ACCPAC ERP 500 Results From an accounting system perspective, the flexibility of ACCPAC for Windows and the foundation provided by Asyma Systems has allowed AgeCare to effectively manage and report on the financial activity of our six Senior Care Facilities. In our industry, financial accountability and reporting are crucial to our success. With our new business system, we have greater control over budget planning, cost control issues and detailed financial reporting. This not only paves the way for future company growth but also allows us to have a greater impact on the lives of the Senior Community we serve. |
